Natural Wallcoverings
The collection of hand-made natural wallcoverings includes a variety of natural base materials. These materials are harvested and then prepared for creating the actual wallcoverings. Much of the construction of the wallcoverings involves manual involvement.
This includes selection, drying, cutting, polishing, weaving, placement, gluing and finishing- all done by hand.
Let’s look at a few of the many natural bases used in creating the hand-made collection.
GRASSES
There are many natural grasses and leaves. These are organic and natural sustainable materials. The grasses are considered environmentally friendly. Sisal, Raffia, Arrowroot, Papyrus, Bamboo, Abaca, Hyacinth and Jute ( to name a few) are all part of this family.
Grasses are generally woven and provide a natural multi-hued feature of varying depths of texture. These wallcoverings are randomly hung, no repeat, with visible seams adding to the natural textured grass effect . There is no waste for matching and a variety of textural treatments available.

MICA
Mica is a natural product with a metallic and almost iridescent effect. Mica chips range in size from mini to larger chips. They are a strong natural material in a vast range of colors. These mica chips are applied to a non-woven backing. The look is very textural and retains a beautiful shimmer.

NATURAL CORK
Cork is a natural sustainable product. Cork wallcovering is handmade of very thin shavings of cork pieced together like a puzzle and glued to a non-woven backing. There are various treatments involved in the actual production of the special wallcovering.
The cork pieces are applied to various backgrounds. This can be a mylar, tinted (matte or shiny), pearl application to ground or over the finished cork surface. The actual cork can be colored, whitewashed, or metallic coated. There are a large number of finishes and treatments for this cork wallcovering offer.
SILK & LINEN
Natural woven silks and linens offer a truly elegant wall finish. The silk and linen textiles are available in several textural weaves and an array of decorative colors. The silks and linens have a protective coating to help protect this beautiful wallcovering. PAPER WEAVES
The paper weave is a newer addition to our offer. This is a manmade paper/cotton creation designed to support the many endangered grasses due to climate change. We are always aware of the effects of climate change on our incredible natural products. These various paper weaves can imitate the various grasses and offer an opportunity to experiment with new techniques. This is a sustainable product and handwoven and laminated to the background substrate.
GLASS BEADS
The glass beads are a newer addition as well to the offer. The beads are created from actual glass and applied to the substrate with a special glue that actually will hold all the glass beads in place- no beads falling off. The sparkly mini glass beads offer a look of deluxe sophistication.
RIVETS
This is a special effect applied to a natural grasscloth or textile weave. The rivets are in relief and can offer a sophisticated look or a truly industrial finish.
DIGITAL PRINT
An addition to the natural wallcovering offer is the digital print. The print is applied to the natural backgrounds to offer a visual printed design on the surface of a large variety of finished natural wallcovering bases. We can also offer murals, panels or prints with metallic or woven effects. The color palette is unlimited and custom coloring is available.
